Why Interior Design?

A fully implemented Cheyne Aston Design Scheme can significantly enhance the value of your property and make it more desirable for a quicker, more reliable rental or sale.

To achieve this, our design process involves enhancing properties to attain their full potential:,  creating beautiful living spaces; stylish room settings and a tranquil and homely atmosphere. 

This may involve: 

•          Opening out views, giving the illusion of rooms being larger and more spacious.

•          Enhancing existing features and making the most of natural lighting. 

•          Selecting colourways and textures which 'widen' walls, "heighten or lower" ceilings.

• ,        Create atmosphere and give depth to a space. 

•          Strategic use of mirrors, lighting and furniture arrangements to accentuate desirable features and architectural styling.

•          Decor and accessories meticulously chosen to camouflage, minimise or direct focus away from structurally disadvantaged areas so that any negative features fade.

Cheyne Aston offer a creative design solution for both private clients and commercial sectors.  As well as luxury commissions, Cheyne Aston have established a reputation for working within agreed budgets and give excellent value.  Our interior design services are independent and not only offer a wide range of products via our sister company Sequesse, but our established contacts within the industry enable to draw on over 500 manufacturers to offer a complete solution that is truly sensational.

Fee Structure

Cheyne Aston offer a 2-tier Design Service to suit all levels of requirement, outlined as follows:

Option 1.     Full Design Scheme  (including Design, Sourcing and Procurement)

Option 2.     Design and Source only (or where client purchases less than £2000 of the Scheme)

Three services explained:

Design includes Briefing, Themes, Sample Boards, Design Specification and Room Layouts. 

Sourcing  involves detailed measurements, quantity calculations, searches, sampling, design specification, pricing, budgeting and detailed recommendations for paints, wall coverings, curtaining, furniture, furnishings and accessories.  

Procurement  (of approved sourced items)  Includes purchase approvals, raising Pro-forma invoices, liaising with suppliers, ordering in, goods inward processing, quality control,  temporary storage (if applicable), supply to site, styling and staging.   NB.  Delivery, fitting and installation charges are quoted at cost where not quoted as being included in the purchase price.

Our fees vary according to the amount and type of input required.

Mostly they are a combination of Design and Sourcing (set fee per room) and Procurement (on a percentage basis), priced as follows:

1.      Full Design Scheme   -  when in conjunction with Procurement of supplies and materials -   see 3. below:                                        -   as quoted, from £295 + vat,  per room or area 

Utilising our wealth of established contacts for supplies, materials, furniture and accessories at competitive prices. Sourcing additional contacts for supply of materials and accessories specific to the requirements of the project.

2.      Design and Source only  -  where the client chooses to order supplies themselves, or orders less than £2000 of the Design Scheme inventory.

                                                    -  as quoted, a fixed fee from £795 + vat per room or area

Notes:  A quotation automatically converts to basis 2 above, if a project is cancelled (or deferred).  If a project is reinstated within 90 days, it reverts to a Full Design Scheme and any monies paid are reimbursed to the customer's account.  

Fitting, installation and decorating are extra, and can be quoted if required (see below).

3.     Procurement  (in conjunction with Full Design Scheme in  1. above).

Meetings:

Initial Meeting (depending on area),  or Telephone Design Brief -  Free of charge

Subsequent Meetings and Site Visits - as quoted, from £95 + vat per hour (depending on distance from our design studio).

Optional Extras:      - as quoted, upon request

Detailed Design and Specifications (for any areas outside the cope of or Design Fee)

Submission of Applications for Planning consent

Building and Decorating Specifications

Co-ordination of Contractors

Show house Styling and Staging

Show house Viewing Session Co-ordination

Project Progress Portfolios

Photo Shoots

PR & local press released and submissions

Time:

£350 per day / £55 per hour

covers:    any areas outside the scope of our Design Fee (see above).

               any changes to the agreed budget and/or design specification           

               any aborted projects

               alternative basis for any agreed procurement deferred longer than 90 days

                                                    (may be subject to re-quote if / when reinstated)

Expenses:

Pre-agreed expenses are charged at cost:  These may include:

Copying / printing, posting / carriage, travel / petrol  (40p per mile outside 20 mile radius of Marlow (Bucks)  or Harpenden (Herts).

All prices are subject to the addition of vat.
